Science themed wall art for High Tunstall College of Science

The challenge

To brighten up the interior corridors of the college with insightful and impactful graphics

We were approached by High Tunstall College of Science in Hartlepool to design, print and install a range of school wall graphics and displays to enhance the internal environment of the college for its students, staff and visitors. The college wanted to underline its position as a specialist Science College.

The solution

A number of graphics were spread around the college ranging from world literature to well-being displays.

Taking into account the layout of the school’s buildings, as well as its colours, values and beliefs, we came up with effective visuals using a variety of materials that included seamless one-piece wallpaper murals, vinyl graphics to fit within skylight areas and printed foamex panels to cover panelled walls. Subjects covered included Periodic tables, Neurodiversity, Computing, Business Studies & Music.

Execution

Execution made easy.

The graphics were installed in two phases on inset days and during school holidays to ensure that there was no disruption to the School day. When the children returned from holidays they were met with an array of Science themed graphics that not only brightened up the interior of the building but provided direction and reinforced learning.

Results

Fantastic college wall graphics installed out of hours, on time and within the client’s budget.

The school wall graphics were predominantly printed using a seamless one piece wallpaper which was finished with an anti-graffiti and anti-microbial laminate for added durability. Some of the larger walls were printed in large 15 x 3m sections and were cut around doors, switches and windows to give a seamless finish.

“The professionalism of the Inspired Visual team was second to none. We worked closely as a team to come up with concepts and ideas that fitted within our “Inspire” ethos and were overwhelmed by the designs we were given. Moving into a new building and making it “lived in” is always difficult but the team at Inspired Visual understood totally what we were trying to do and we are so pleased with what is now on the walls at High Tunstall College of Science.

The designs have been looked at with awe by all in our community and we look forward to continuing our relationship with the team to continue to improve the environment for all at High Tunstall.”
