Neston High School near Chester have recently installed new School wall art to help encourage the love of reading amongst their pupils. The work (pictured) was designed and installed during the Summer holidays giving the staff and students a welcome surprise when they returned to School in September.
How Does Your School Use It's Walls, Windows & Stairwells To Encourage A Love Of Reading?
The new designs are located in two areas of the school. The first area is on the main thoroughfare between the English department and the library. The design is titled ‘Reading is a passport to countless adventures’ and features a world map, bespoke illustrations of famous book titles, authors and world landmarks which ties the design together. The graphics are printed on a durable one piece wallpaper that has a unique liquid laminate coating to improve longevity and durability.
The second area is located on the main stairwell to the English department where an array of bespoke book spine illustrations have been designed and fitted to the stairs. The ‘stair riser’ graphics are used to create interest on the approach to the School’s English department and the books that have been chosen by the School. Each are individually printed and applied using a high tack vinyl and finished with a scuff resistant laminate.
